Overview

BharatUpskill was a 2-year freelance design partnership focused on transforming their skill development platform. The platform needed a comprehensive overhaul to improve user engagement and create a more intuitive learning experience for students pursuing skill development courses.

Problem

BharatUpskill needed a comprehensive design overhaul to enhance user engagement and improve the learning experience on their skill development platform.

Discovery & Alignment

I conducted user research to understand learning patterns, student behaviors, and pain points in the existing platform. Through interviews and analytics analysis, I identified that users struggled with unclear learning pathways and disconnected course interfaces.

We aligned on a user-centric approach that prioritized intuitive navigation, clear progress indicators, and engaging visual design that would motivate learners throughout their skill development journey.

Solution Architecture

Intuitive Learning Pathways: Designed clear course interfaces and learning flows that guided students from enrollment to completion with minimal friction.

Enhanced Visual Design: Improved visual appeal and user experience design to create a more engaging and motivating learning environment.

Accessibility & Responsiveness: Implemented accessibility standards and responsive design to ensure the platform worked seamlessly across all devices and for all users.

Consistent Design System: Created a unified design system across the platform, ensuring cohesive experiences whether students were browsing courses, taking lessons, or tracking progress.

Learnings

EdTech design requires balancing motivation with clarity. Students need clear pathways that show progress while maintaining engagement through thoughtful visual design. A consistent design system across the platform reduces cognitive load and helps learners focus on learning, not navigating.
